Training Day and Annual General Meeting at Kings Chambers

Arrangements have been made for the Branch to hold its Annual Training Day and Annual General Meeting on 6 March 2012. The event will be hosted and sponsored once again by Kings Chambers in Leeds and will be at no cost. The day will commence with registration and coffee from 9.30 and the Branch AGM at 10.00. Training sessions will commence at 10.30 and will include Judicial Review, Procurement, Regulatory and Employment. The detailed programme is as follows;
9.30 (from) Registration
10.00 – 10.30 AGM and Address from Bev Cullen National Chair of SLG
10.30 – 11.30 Judicial Review Plenary Session
11.30 – 1.00 Employment and Planning Breakout Sessions
1.00 – 2.00 Lunch
2.00 – 3.30 Regulatory/Licensing and Procurement Breakout Sessions
3.30 – 4.00 Open Forum/Washup Session
The National Chair of SLG Bev Cullen is to attend the event and will update members on the ongoing debate with the Law Society about the Recognised Groups Agreement and the discussions with ACSeS about forming a new organisation to give a single voice for all solicitors in local government.
The Branch AGM is the formal meeting of the year when the Branch Officers and the Branch Executive are appointed. Anyone wishing to be nominated for the Executive or any of the Branch Offices should notify the Branch Secretary by 1 March 2012.
