Power of General Competence?

The Local Government Association is seeking to move the debate forward to clarify the form that such a power could take. Is it needed to clarify and extend the well being powers? How could it be achieved?
SLG will soon be engaging with the LGA in the debate and members are invited to contribute their views. Any members with preliminary views or opinions are invited to express then on the Forum or by contacting the Vice Chairman direct who will lead on this issue for SLG.
It is likely that a more formal consultation will take place later in the year.
