Topics
The journal is intended as a forum for our members to share information and good practice in local government law. With that in mind, articles covering current legal practice, recent developments or innovative working are welcomed. Further to this, articles on success stories, awards, individual achievements and holistic forms of working are also welcomed. Should you wish to submit an idea for an article prior to writing it then please contact the Editor.
Submitting articles
Contributions from solicitors working in local government are always welcome. All articles should be submitted by email to m.ginn@richmond.gov.uk with a covering note containing the following information;
- The title of your article.
- Your name and job title.
- A brief description of your role.
- The local authority or firm you work for.
- The word count of your article.
- Contact information should you wish this to appear with your article.
Articles should be sent as Microsoft Word documents or simple text documents and ideally sent as an attachment.
A good quality, professional photograph of the author (marked with his/her name) should also be supplied where possible. 'Holiday snaps', photo booth photos and photos smaller than 5cm x 5cm cannot be accepted. If photos are scanned in they should be scanned at least in their original size, at a resolution of 300dpi and saved in either JPG or TIF file formats.
Word counts
Articles for Noter-Up must fit our standard lengths:
- One printed page - 900 words maximum
- Two printed pages - 1800 words maximum
Please note that due to the size of the journal, two page articles will not be readily accepted. Please contact the Editor in advance to discuss inclusion if you feel a two-page article is necessary for your chosen topic.
