Your Child Care Lawyers Group needs you!

24 October 2008

The Child Care Lawyers Group is a National Group of SLG which deals with child care issues on the national stage. The Group has recently undergone changes in membership and is looking for volunteers to join it to represent this important and ever changing specialist legal field.

The Group currently has members from Birmingham, Leicester, Southwark, Luton, Liverpool, Flintshire, Dudley and Cheshire.

We are looking for additional members to join, particularly to represent the north east, eastern England, Wales, south east or another London Borough Council.

Meetings are currently held in Birmingham, but can be held at the offices of other member authorities. They take place quarterly for two and a half hours, which attracts CPD. The next meeting is to be held on 8th December 2008.

Members are required to have at least three years pqe and experience of advising at a senior level. Motivation and commitment to undertake reading and some work in your own time is also expected. Membership of the Children’s Panel is preferred.

The Group is part of SLG’s National Knowledge Network and aims to complement the work of local Child Care SIGs by sharing ideas, information and best practice.

If you are interested, please provide Sheri Holland (chair) with a brief resume by email sholland@leics.gov.uk no later than 3 November 2008.
